Water depth sensor

I want to make a water depth sensor .
I have seen some YouTube videos of water proof ultrasonic sensor ,but it's will not work under water.
Please any one tell me which sensor should I use.
I want to sense it he depth of water.
From surface to the bottom .
The sensor should be on the surface of water -

I got a few sensors to measure the depth of water, some of them are listed .
- MS5540C , example link
- Bar30 High-Resolution 300m Depth/Pressure Sensor
- Miniature Barometer Module * OTT ecoLog 1000 Water Level Logger

@Geethesh Try using Sharp IR sensor.....it's more effective than normal IR and can measure distances accurately using ir Rays. Try using it.

As @rafitc99 mentioned, you need to expand the Serila buffer, in the hardware serial also the Arduino board package implements a 64-byte ring buffer for send and receive on the hardware serial messages. So you need to change that to 256 as per your message length.
